Fayose, wife assure President of victory

First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan urged Nigerians yesterday not to fall to All Progressives Congress (APC) antics She said the party allegedly thrives in deception.

On  his part, Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose said Nigerians must prevent avoidable crisis by allowing President Goodluck Jonathan complete his last four years so that the North could have its uninterrupted eight-year tenure from 2019.

The First Lady and Gov. Fayose made these remarks during the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Women Presidential Rally held in the Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti, where a crowd had welcomed Mrs Jonathan.

Listing her husband’s achievements, from SURE-P to U-Win, new universities and ensuring that women get 35 per cent participation in government,  Mrs. Jonathan said: “PDP is not a party that tells lies. Whatever we promised to do, we do it. We are not a propangandist party. Ekiti women, your mother is here and I will not tell you lies, but the truth. Your governor has told you, when they (opposition party) were there, what did they do? When Fayose was in his first term, didn’t he do something? If he didn’t do something for you then, would you have voted him again? If you have done something, it must be visible. Nigerian women, shine your eyes o! Vote with what you have seen, who you already know and who has performed.

“If anyone is telling you change, they are deceiving you. When they were there before Goodluck Jonathan, they did not regard women as anything. But today, PDP has wiped off our tears. Jonathan has wiped off our tears. He has fulfilled his promise of giving women 35 per cent participation. He gave 16 out of 42 slots in his cabinet to women. He is a performer,” Mrs Jonathan said.

Fayose said:” Women, I trust you. The APC are liars, they can lie and lie till their name is synonymous with lie, you know who I’m talking about. I need not mention names.

“Goodluck is our own. He is coming back. I am carrying the mandate of a people who believe in me. If they do elections here 20 times, I will win. They have a product that is old and tired. Nigerians are not people without common sense, General Buhari has contested three times. The same promoters of Buhari never wanted him. Now they are saying he’s a saint. Why didn’t they call him a saint then?. They have a hidden agenda. Their agenda is to bury this man and inherit him, God forbid!. The way they killed the other man. They know the truth. How can somebody of my mother’s age contest for governor not to talk of president? The APC is giving Nigerians banana peel that is slippery.

To the First Lady; Fayose said: “I want to assure you Madam, as Nigerians live, your husband will come back again. The weather is clear now, we have gone past the month of Febuhari, it is now the month of March for Goodluck!.”

Mrs Feyisetan Fayose said: “The First Lady’s visit to Ekiti offered immense pleasure. We welcome Her Excellency to Ekiti State, the Fountain of Knowledge and the people of the state appreciate  you. As you are aware, we are lovers of peace. My husband is also known across the world as an apostle of stomach infrastructure, he is known as foremost campaingner of Goodluck Jonathan in a way that is devoid of rancour.”
