Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of The Sun Publishing Ltd, Mr. Femi Adesina, yesterday in Enugu lamented the poor state of infrastructure at the Enugu International Trade Fair Complex, insisting that it was not what it should be and that efforts should be made to bring it to the standard of an international complex.
Adesina who led The Sun management its special day at the fair said, “I and my colleagues will do our part because from what I see here, there is a lot to be done here. We will do our own bit to see that this war is won because the Enugu International Trade Fair Complex should not be like this. Since it is like this, we will do our bit to ensure that it doesn’t remain this way.
Adesina who was represented by the Executive Director, Corporate Services, Steve Nwosu, while welcoming guests to what he called “a Sunshine Trade Fair, a day for The Sun-shine family,” noted that The Sun and the Enugu International Trade Fair have formed a partnership that will go a long way; “it’s a Catholic marriage. We don’t foresee a divorce in the nearest future. And we must do all we can to make sure that this partnership remains.”
He said The Sun is at the Enugu Trade Fair strictly to show that the fair is important and to show that there is nothing that makes any other fair more special than this one. “We are in the Enugu International Trade Fair because the South East and Enugu is our home.
“You in this part of the country, particularly in this state, have made The Sun the number one and there is only one way we can continue to show that we appreciate what you are doing for The Sun by continuing to vote for this newspaper every year with your N150, N50, N200; it’s not easy. We know that we are the highest selling newspaper in this country today and it’s largely due to what you have done in this part of the country.
“Last year, we launched the Oriental News; we have not launched anything this year, we are consolidating but you can be sure that as we move on whatever affects the interest of Enugu and the South East, The Sun will continue to take it as a challenge close to our hearts. We will ensure that we fight your wars, we will fight your battles and with us you can be sure that your back is covered.
