Election: APC maintains lead in 11 LGAs in Ogun

The All Progres­sives Congress in Ogun State has so far won the results of Saturday’s presidential election in 11 out of the 17 local gov­ernment areas already declared by the Indepen­dent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state.
APC’s main challenger in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has, however, won in only six of the 17 local govern­ment areas.
The results of the re­maining three local gov­ernment areas were still being awaited as at press time.
According to the breakdown of the figures as released by the vari­ous INEC local govern­ment collating officers, in Ewekoro, APC polled 9,626 and PDP got 3,227, while in Obafemi/Owode, APC got 15,207 and PDP 5,786.
Also in Ijebu Ode Local Government, APC polled 14,043 and PDP, 8962.
Results showed that APC had 11,102 while PDP got 4,456 in Odeda Local Government.
The APC also beat the PDP in Ijebu North East with 7,638 votes. The PDP got 6,163 votes.
In Odoogbolu, it was a very keen contest as the APC scored 11,623 votes against PDP’s 11, 405.
The APC resumed its winning streak in Abeo­kuta North chalking 21,213 votes, while the PDP scored 5,742.
The APC also beat the PDP in Ifo scoring 27,353. The PDP got only 8,645 votes.
But in Ogun Waterside, the PDP reversed the trend by scoring 8,063 votes to beat the APC, which got 7,076 votes.
The PDP also repeat­ed the feat in Ijebu East where it narrowly beat the APC with 10,045 votes. The APC got 9,109 votes.
In Sagamu, the PDP scored 17,263 while the APC scored 15,761.
Also in Remo North, PDP polled 9,278 while the APC got 6,164.
In Imeko Afon, PDP polled 12,153 votes while the APC got 7,657.
The PDP also consoli­dated its position in Ijebu North, polling 20,500 votes while the APC got 14,410 votes.
But in Egbado South, the APC returned to its leading position with 14,169 votes against PDP’s 10,491 votes.
