As Nigerians await the results of Saturday’s election, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Chris Uba, has warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to declare results in the name of any candidate of the party in Anambra state.
Uba, whose name and those in his line-up were earlier published by INEC as candidates before the list was changed three days to February 14 re-scheduled polls said the warning became imperative due to pending cases of all PDP candidates at the Supreme and Federal High Courts.
Speaking to newsmen in Awka after Saturday’s election, Uba insisted that no PDP candidate would claim victory until the courts give judgment in the pending suits.
The Uba group had in a motion on notice filed at the Supreme Court, prayed for an order of injunction, restraining INEC from issuing any certificate of return to any candidate of PDP for the 2015 National Assembly election in Anambra State, pending the determination of the suit fixed for hearing on June 9, 2015.
