Ahead of Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections, Senate President David Mark has harped on free, fair, transparent and credible polls as the safeguard for a sustainable democracy in Nigeria.
Senator Mark, however, expressed optimism that Nigerians had been sensitised and enlightened enough to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the elections on Saturday.
Addressing his constituents in Otukpo, Benue State at the end of his 2015 campaign tour, on Tuesday, Senator Mark urged all stakeholders to play according to the rules and ultimately allow the will of the people to prevail.
So far, he noted, “Nigerians have imbibed democratic tenets and accepted same as the preferred form of government that is participatory and representative.
“As we embark on another major election, let us be guided by national interest and hold on tenaciously on all that bring peace and unity amongst us as a people.
